PREMIUM PRIMITIVE DOUGH BOX

CA 1800 - BUCK'S COUNTY, PA.

 

Being offered for auction is a ~~FABULOUS~~ primitive dough box which would sit on the old harvest table or work center.  It is approximately 29" long and 12" tall and 12" wide.

The interior of the dough box has appropriate wear with lighter wood shadows to show where the lid was kept on the box.

The dough box lid has two handles to provide for a nice balance when holding for removal.  The pine wood is like velvet!  FABULOUS PATINA!

The right-hand side of the lid has a hole available for hanging the lid on a nail while the cook was preparing the dough.

Original construction included square nails. 

Charming semi-heart shaped handles are a hallmark of this beautiful and rare piece.

 

This dough box is a ~~RARE~~ premium primitive!  It would be hard to find one any nicer.
